Dr. Samuel Rizk

Dr. Samuel Rizk is the UNDP Resident Representative in Pakistan since July 2023. Prior to this, he was Head of Conflict Prevention, Peacebuilding & Responsive Institutions (CPPRI) at the UNDP Crisis Bureau in New York. He has also managed the UNDP/RBAS Sub-Regional Response Facility in Amman, supporting the regional response to the Syrian crisis. Dr. Samuel served as UNDP Country Director in Syria (2015-2017) and Senior Programme Advisor for the Regional Bureau for Arab States in New York. Additionally, he served as a Peace and Development Advisor in Sudan and a Conflict Prevention Advisor in Yemen for the UN System. Dr.Samuel holds a PhD in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University, an MA in Middle East Studies from the American University in Cairo, and a BA in Political Science from Hanover College.
